I race my bumpy back roads in New Jersey. It's mid 90's summer heat with oppressive humidity when I go out. The snot and sweat from my gloves is gnawing at the bar tape and my rubber hoods are also frayed, which is why I bought this tape. I covered my hoods and then used the rest on the top and bottom of the handlebar. The strap stretches a little more than I thought it would, and thanks to some voodoo magic, it really does cling to itself. I was worried it would slide down the bars once installed, but I got five or six (one hour, 17 miles ) made rides in the brutal heat and the belt didn't budge. Next year I plan to get two rolls and cover each side completely.
