very durable in handlebars, headsets and stems

Use this tape as a finishing tape to wrap handlebars. I am very happy with it. I spent a bit of it trying to figure out how it works (it CANNOT be removed without destroying it), but the end result is good. Will not stick to anything other than silicone. REALLY sticks to itself, very good. After about fifteen seconds of contact, your hopes of pulling it out and moving it again are nil, so proceed slowly and very precisely.

Ideal for handlebar tape: Sport

If you're replacing the tape on your bike handlebars, this thing takes care of the tape with ease. It doesn't use any glue to stick to itself, so the glue will never get sticky or leak in hot weather. It offers a snug fit, and even a small wrap-around tightening ensures the band will never unravel. Strangely, some of the tape spontaneously detached and disappeared while driving, but the new piece of tape I replaced it with has held in place ever since.

Pros
  • hands-free kit
Cons
  • The list is long.

Great purchase! on Parts & Components

I ride my bike in a bad area and need to lock it up there for a few hours several times a week and I didn't want to flaunt a new $1000+ bike so I could stolen for drug money. I bought this tape and wrapped the frame around to hide the markings and put some stickers on it to give it an aged look. On the plus side, this tape quickly attracts dust, making my bike look really dirty instead of new and expensive. I have had my bike for 2 years and it has never been stolen! I connect it with this…

Works perfectly. Like most cyclists

Where has all my cycling life been?!? Works perfectly. Like most cyclists, I found that the two short strips of tape that came with the handlebars didn't fit, so we used tape. Over time and exposure to heat, tape becomes somewhat runny, which allows the tape to slide and leave a sticky residue all over it. This material has no glue but holds up very well. It's stretchy so you can create a nice, tight fit on the handlebars. Haven't been out in the rain yet but so far so good.

Magic Voodoo Tape in handlebars, headsets and stems

I race my bumpy back roads in New Jersey. It's mid 90's summer heat with oppressive humidity when I go out. The snot and sweat from my gloves is gnawing at the bar tape and my rubber hoods are also frayed, which is why I bought this tape. I covered my hoods and then used the rest on the top and bottom of the handlebar. The strap stretches a little more than I thought it would, and thanks to some voodoo magic, it really does cling to itself. I was worried it would slide down the bars once…

MUCH BETTER THAN CHANNEL

I bought this tape after reading a number of reviews both pros and cons and I can say this tape is a lot better than using the tried and true fashion- adhesive tape. I taped three of my bikes last week with no problems. Good minus one. The tape wound itself up and it was pretty bad to pull off because I just threw that piece away and cut off the other one. With using tape I don't see myself being left with those sticky residue that using tape leaves in the years to come when I have to rewind…

sticks to itself without glue

This tape stuck to itself quickly which meant I didn't have to worry about it coming loose after installation. I also found that after wrapping the handlebars I could cut and glue a short piece around the base of the brake cap which stayed in place. On the other hand, I had to be careful when wrapping that it didn't roll up by itself and recognize any mistakes and unroll them quickly. It stretches very easily, perhaps too easily for easy application. It needs to be wrapped properly the first…

Not a fan of this store.

First of all, I have OCD because of my bike. I've been riding for over 40 years and have wrapped the handlebars a million times on different bikes. I'm bored with my gear and a cheap quick replacement is to fit new bar tape. The finishing tape that came with the strip tape sucks most of the time so like everyone else I replace it with duct tape which works fine most of the time. I ordered this silicone tape based on positive reviews and ended up not liking it. First, it's too wide. Second, it…
