I use this lantern over my 29 gallon aquarium in the evenings for "moonlight" time of about an hour or two until the lights go out completely overnight. I got it because my old lantern (nautical orbit) had a nice dark blue moonlight; but my new Kessil light doesn't produce a faint blue light (even with a spectral regulator). This little light is perfect for giving us and the fish the last part of the "sunset" before total darkness. It calms and gives the aquarium a unique color scheme. I love that it only has blue lights (no white) because I want a deep navy blue for the night. The clip-on mount is small and has a narrow hole that you slide onto something flat. I can't put it on the edge of my aquarium. Luckily it fits over the glass tank cover at the back. My glass top is a typical fold-out model. It comes with a plastic piece for the back which I don't use as I need room for the filter inlet/outlet pipes. Because the rim of the glass does not reach the inside rim of the aquarium, there is room to mount the small plastic clip of this blue bulb onto the glass. Then it is tightened with a simple plastic screw. Looks strong enough. The lighting is quite bright, filling the entire pool with blue light.
