We've been on the boat all summer so I bought this to protect my phone from water and drops. So far he has defended well. It is absolutely waterproof. I can even take my phone in the shower or swim if I want. Also, I've dropped my phone a few times on pavement, rocks, wood, etc. with no damage. My only concerns are: 1. The fingerprint reader is questionable, even if you remove the factory protective film from the screen and increase the sensitivity. Sometimes it is read, sometimes not.2. part of the screen protector will be scratched. Unfortunately, mine scratched right above the front camera lens.3. There's terrible glare in bright light, I've tried different lighting settings and nothing helps, not even adaptive brightness. So it's not an Otterbox or Lifeproof case, but it's good value for money.
