This is practically a plastic mixing bowl with a visor. It will not stay still on my grandson's head because it is literally shaped like a bowl containing nothing resembling the shape of a human head. The strap is useless and does not break. If your baby's head isn't shaped like the bottom of a large mason jar, just skip that one.
