The best way to connect two wires since there were wires.
These connectors are ultra legal. 50 years of wire bonding including small phone jacks is better than any alternative. The only difference between a military or space connection is the hand soldering, inspection and then using the same heat shrink and glue sleeve. Use a thermal pen or gun, do not use a flame for quality work.
