I was very impressed with this multi-purpose camping/hiking/emergency lantern/flashlight. It is sturdy and well-made with hard plastic and LED lights and is very simple to use. I recharged it and tried all of the lighting options and then decided to read the Operation Guide (hahaha).This product is exactly as advertised on the webpage, which is very important.To recharge: plug the type C end into the recharge port and plug the other end into a USB port. If you recharge using house current, you will need an AC/DC USB adapter (not included). A "charging" light will blink while it is charging and shine steady when done - unplug (see cautions below). You can also recharge your mobile device with the included cable. Both ports on the lantern are protected by a cover plug.The lantern operates with 3 buttons. 1) Controls the LED flashlight - high, low, flashing strobe. 2) Controls the LED lantern: bright, warm, combined for brighter. 3) Controls the red emergency light: SOS and flashing strobe.You can turn on all 3 lighting functions and you have a light show. The center switch can also be used like a dimmer switch by pressing and holding it down - great for sleeping while camping without being in total darkness.It has a handle for carrying as a flashlight and a hook for hanging.It has a one-year warranty.We have 4-5 power-outs a year and this lantern will come in very handy while we convert the house to generator-mode. We live in the woods without any street lights so it gets very dark beyond our external house lights. This bright lantern will be very handy - you know - for when things go bump in the night. (smiles)Cautions in the Operation Guide: 1) Do not overcharge - it does not have a fully-charged automatic shutoff. The charging light will stop flashing when fully charged. 2) Do not use any lighting function or recharging a mobile device while recharging the lantern - it will turn off to protect the battery (reset by turning off the lighting function and re-plug the charger cable).
