Soapstone slips off at slightest pressure, mostly useless1. I assumed it was because the sharp threads interfered with tightening the twist cap. wrong, which didn't work after I smoothed the sharp edge of the thread with a grinder at an angle of 30 degrees.2. I assumed the 4 slots between the 4 clamping fingers didn't have enough play to clamp fully, I used a flex saw between the locking fingers to widen the gap, wrong again by slipping further.3. I took off the screw cap and tried to pinch the soapstone with my fingers and it stopped slipping, but as soon as I applied pressure to even the tip of the threads it started slipping. The solution to this problem is to use needle nose pliers and slightly bend each of the 4 pinch fingers outwards to create a longer contact area between the 4 pinch fingers and the soapstone (not just friction at the tip). Now the handle works like a master, no longer slipping even with fairly strong pressure. I am gifted in mechanical design and have designed/invented all sorts of devices. I hope I can pass on my gift and help those in need. To give good luck like I always taught my children.
