Thought my Gustard X16 sounded fantastic and better than even some $700-$1000 DACs I've heard so I was plenty happy. Saw someone post about using these as an I2S reclocker on their DAC and decided for $55 it couldn't hurt and if it straight sucked or didn't work it was an easy return. Plugged it in to my PC and then into my DAC through I2S over HDMI and instantly noticed the channels were swapped but no problem, just swap the output cables on the back of the DAC and problem solved.THEN THE SOUND. OH MY GOD IT WAS NIGHT AND DAY BETTER.Lows dug way deeper and hit harder. Highs were more detailed and separated. Mids were very noticeably clearer but didn't stand out as being as massive of a difference as the lows and highs.but mostly the lows.oh my god the lows came out. Soundstage width, depth, and height was improved and I think it was because of how much more accurate the attack and decay was to give that much better sense of space. Imaging was noticeably improved. Really everything was noticeably better. If you search them online they have 2 higher tier versions with more expensive internal clocks. One of them is $100 with TCXO clocks and the other has 2 Crystek femtosecond clocks and is $200. With how noticeable of a difference this thing made with my Gustard DAC I'm honestly tempted to try one of the $200 ones. At $55 this thing is a steal for the performance it brings if you have an I2S over HDMI capable DAC. Douk Audio really has some decent stuff these days, it's crazy.
