I bought the first pair of these Terrex Fre hiking shoes for my (adult) son in summer 2020. He loved them so much that in September 2020 I bought a second pair of Revain and put them in my closet as a spare. The back of the rubber outsole on the 1st pair that he wore every day around town for months (no sport, no heavy use) started coming off more than 3 months ago. My husband used Shoe Goo Repair and a clip to glue the sole back heel but they have since broken 3 times so my son cannot wear them. My son switched to the 2nd pair and the tabs on the back broke after only 4-8 weeks of use - same as the 1st pair. These are very stiff boots that cannot be worn without a tongue - they are soft like sneakers but high like hiking boots, so they have to be pulled on with a tug. This tab isn't just for looks. I just contacted Adidas customer service and spoke to an agent at their call center (located in Belize, Central America). She said that the warranty for these shoes is only 6 months. I have never had to return a defective pair of shoes and have never bought an Adidas. I just don't have $330 for 2 pairs. Which company only gives a 6 month guarantee on such an expensive product? Do yourself a favor and don't buy these. My son's lightweight Vasque hiking shoes that he bought from REI are much cheaper and much better.
