Review on High-Quality Auto Glass Sealant: Sikaflex P2G Urethane Glue with Primerless Adhesive (Pack of 2) by Kevin Barbon

Excellent when used correctly.

I've used over 10 hoses of this Sika-Flex this summer. I demisted 15 windows on my Fleetwood van. It was a big task. Dismantling, splitting, cleaning, polishing, sealing, assembling, installing. The product was excellent. Applied smoothly. Good adhesion. Healed quickly. But. There are a few things to keep in mind to avoid the issues and complaints that some people are reporting. Poke out the gasket and make a large hole. Complaints say the material is old or won't come out. Well I've been buying tubes within 3 months with no problems. Urethane is a beast, but it doesn't set until it comes out of the tube. And only a product exposed to air hardens. The inner material does not harden when the outer material hardens. If the pipe is damaged it should be obvious. So the probable causes of the complaint: The hose is not heated up or a small hole is punched in the metal seal. It ain't a thing baby Open up as much of the filling as possible. This material is thick. And cut a hole at least 3/16 inch in the plastic nozzle. Let it flow. Let it flow. Don't hold it back anymore 2. Heat this product well. Heat is fully absorbed. The hose should be more than warm. I put 2 pieces of wood on an electric underfloor heating. I slide the wood 8 inches apart and place 2 pipes across the gap so they radiate heat. Then cover the top with a folded towel to keep warm. I let it soak for at least an hour on low power. The hose feels somewhere between warm and hot. When I'm done, I take out the tube and use it right away. When I was done I stuck a 16d nail in the nozzle to keep it fresh and put it back in the heater. If you don't heat the tube properly, the rest of your experience will be unforgettable.3. Annie, take your gun. Good. Not cheap pos. Don't even think about using that thing hanging in your garage. And if you don't do #1, #2, don't even try to continue. Not even with a bazooka. I had to apply over 180 feet of fillings. I used a Ryobi Cordless Caulking Gun. Worked great. Of course I tore the rivets off the end stop. I'm back in business after an upgrade with hardened bolts. I also bought a Red Devil Pro HD pistol as a backup here at Revain. Worked great. slowly.4. Be smart, stay clean, now clean. This stuff is great for sticking with anything for the long haul. If you let little blemishes and blotches get away with them unchecked, you'll find them smudged all over the place. Overall. Just like Nutella. Hands, face, hair, ears, nose, glasses, elbows, doorknobs, light switches, carpet, countertops, dog head. Therefore, keep overshoots and lumps to a minimum. Clean immediately with white spirit. Put on and throw away disposable gloves. Clean stamp. Have a roll of paper towels handy. Use them freely no matter how you vote. Don't let Fido around while you work. May all your seals and bindings last forever. Hooray.
