Good things: Car Detailing

Bought this for my son to put a windshield on his truck. He loved it. It works exactly as advertised and has great printing.

Great stuff for sealant

I used this to seal metal joints. Super thick, non-drip, odorless, smooth application. Get a 26:1 caulking gun or plan to cut the pipe and lubricate it.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Some problems

Excellent seal Best seal

This material is thick. I heated it to over 180 degrees for 15 minutes to soften it enough to be able to remove with a manual caulking gun. Dries quickly and stays on track.

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • No mold required

Costs money! good for sealants

worth the money. The only problem I had was my fault. I didn't buy the cartridge gun I needed. I suggest you do this. I managed to get it by preheating it in water on the stovetop for about 30 minutes. slowly bring to a boil and then immediately began to use. Went like clockwork. Also make sure you cut the tip in a V shape and make sure your depth is right and put enough on the window as you don't have 1 shot to set it.

Pros
  • suitable for many
Cons

Easy to work with the right tools

Following other tips online, I used my Ryobi caulking gun and heated the urethane in the oven at 65°C/150°F for 10-15 minutes. Cut out the template notch in the nozzle tip. Based on the photos in my review, the bead was clean and easy to put on. Wherever I finished one tube, I slightly overlapped the next, coming back with a spatula to ensure the sealant was continuous. Leave for 10 minutes before applying glass and making minor adjustments. Overall the process was easy.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

You need the right tools to use this without having to heat the pipes.

I have tried manually squeezing this substance out of a standard caulking gun but to no avail. This is not a latex sealer. I stopped by the store and bought a Ryobi 18 volt caulking gun. The seal can then be applied perfectly and easily. It bonds quickly and is difficult to clean, just what you would expect from a window sealant. After $50 for a new tool, I still came out a lot cheaper than the local glass store would have charged me.

Will break a cheap caulking gun, but a 26:1 caulking gun will do.

DO NOT underestimate the importance of a 26:1 caulking gun for this product. This is a great product and on a hot day it only has about 15 minutes of working time. If you try to fart with a cheap gun, he'll get the skin before you hit the bead and it will be too late to make the connection. I've only ever had cheap cartridge guns until I bought this https://www.amazon gun. com/gp/product/B00DZP27Q2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it worked fine even though I just cut a…

Extremely strong stuff!

Used to fix a cracked bumper after accidentally hitting a rabbit on a long trip through the mountains. Surprisingly, the poor guy did quite a bit of damage to my car. I put on gloves, cut the hose and smeared some onto the fiberglass mat, pressed it against the back of the bumper and then smoothed some more on the other side of the fiberglass. Hold on. It's probably stronger now than new. Like I said, it's very thick and I couldn't force it out with a regular Home Depot POS caulking gun. I had…

Excellent when used correctly.

I've used over 10 hoses of this Sika-Flex this summer. I demisted 15 windows on my Fleetwood van. It was a big task. Dismantling, splitting, cleaning, polishing, sealing, assembling, installing. The product was excellent. Applied smoothly. Good adhesion. Healed quickly. But. There are a few things to keep in mind to avoid the issues and complaints that some people are reporting. Poke out the gasket and make a large hole. Complaints say the material is old or won't come out. Well I've been…
