I've used plain face wipes before and haven't had a problem with it. I actually prefer them over many other facial tissue brands because they're a bit softer on the face and don't smell like nursing home (check out Neutrogena). I thought that was what I got when I ordered them but I guess I didn't pay much attention and ended up with eye makeup remover wipes. After the initial "oh my god I was wrong" surprise when I was expecting a box of tissues and was given two small packs, I figured they would probably still work even if it wasn't what I wanted. And they really work. They removed all my eye makeup. It just feels like you're setting your face on fire when you use them. Not only do the pads have a pretty rough texture, whatever chemicals were in them, I felt like they gnawed at the skin of my face. I had to rub my eyes with cold water to stop itching and burning. It's crazy that they advertise these things as "sensitive skin". Unless, of course, they mean that your skin will become sensitive after application because you will be removing a few layers of the epidermis from them. Maybe that's what they mean. Ugh. Needless to say, I've been using regular facial tissues ever since. And probably buy from Target instead of Revain to avoid confusion.
