I wanted to use the Raspberry Pi to run Octoprint for my 3D printer which works great. I couldn't be happier, I never installed the heatsinks that originally came with the Pi as I knew I would be upgrading to this active cooling system with fan and heatsink as I knew it would be around most of the time clock would run. It was easy to connect the 5v output and ground of the Pi. My Pi comes with a clear plastic case that snaps easily into place and opens easily. This case had to be modified to allow room for the large heatsink and fan to fit in the case. It took about five minutes with my Dremel tool to "fit" the case. I could easily print a case that would have enough room for a cooling system as there are many free ones to download. The fan is as quiet as a mouse and the Pi hardly gets warm even after long periods of use.
