Worried about a leak but no problem.

I was a little concerned when I received this thermometer as I thought it might leak onto my stove due to the design of the bracket where I drilled a hole in the stove for attachment. Since there are metal washers on both sides instead of a seat welded on one side, I figured this would allow the fluid to run down the threads and bypass the rubber washers (makes 4). So I used teflon pipe tape on the threads and had no problems.
