Adjusting joints and openings

without instructions. has two rubber washers, I assumed one stays down and the other up. and the bottom of the top was swaying so I figured maybe both would stay up! so i installed it like this. and the bottom part was still moving. So I thought, okay, I guess that's what it's for. So I decided to put a green silicone jig on a gallon bottle of Twilight, thinking it should snap tight. I couldn't get him to do it so I tried a bottle of Palmolive soap. no joy, I kept thinking, and that was my first mistake. don't think about it. it just sits freely, I thought so, because air has to come in because of the vacuum principle, right? . ok put the hose in the green thing with enough water to reach the bottom of the bottle and started pumping and in the process i accidentally found that the bottom jiggling at the top is actually tightening too! (So the washer should probably go from the bottom since I installed it first!). I did a few pumps, maybe 30-40, and looked under the sink, there was a dawn blue liquid in the tube, but the tube was bent and collapsed. I mentioned this vacuum principle. So I moved the bottle so the hose didn't kink! and now everything works fine. So tighten the bottom of the tops too and the top and bottom should probably use a rubber washer - the last green thing shouldn't snap, if it did you would have to punch a hole in the bottle for this to keep working, otherwise the bottle will collapse because of the vacuum principle I mentioned. I wish I was skinny and tiny but I have long arms so I could reach without having to remove the traps/pipes etc. Crazy how they design stuff under the sink. Good luck, hope the information above helps and a few instructions will really help if the creators are listening!
