Use wd40 for hangers and burners for all hard screws. Cut the pipe to make it easier to remove or edit. To be honest just cut as you need. It's not hard to put on, it's pretty easy. I have a small drip right where the new pipe meets the old one, but it doesn't affect anything. Watching YouTube videos will help a lot.
