Installs in 10 minutes on a 2011 13-inch MacBook Air. The included P5 Pentalobe and #5 Hex are not cheap tools. They are well made and I am keeping them for future use. Six screws to open the bottom (P5) and one (5 hex) to protect the SSD. After installation, power on with Command-R to boot online. Format the drive. You can try to boot Mac OS using the online installer, but most likely you will get an error message. This is a known issue with Apple, not with SSDs. I had a Mac OS Mountain Lion CD and an external CD so I could install Mac OS Mountain Lion. After installing and rebooting, I was able to download and install Mac OS High Sierra from Apple's website. High Sierra is the highest Mac operating system that can be run on a 2011 MacBook Air. I've been using a MacBook with an INDEM 512GB SSD for over a week with no problems. also highly recommended.
