I have no idea why I waited so long to buy one.

My beloved mid 2011 11" MacBook Air (which I bought from Best Buy in January 2012) has worked well for years, with one problem: the 128GB SSD was too small and filling constantly, so I need it can delete the files or put them on an external hard drive. Cons

Nice replacement SSD

A MacBook can last a very long time due to its high quality, but the SSD/HDD fails and causes myriad problems including a kernel crash that keeps rebooting. Fix the problem and this SSD replacement is pretty good so far, Macbook works like new now.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • No instructions

Works great and is easy to install 2011 MacBook Air

Installs in 10 minutes on a 2011 13" MacBook Air. The included P5 pentalobe and #5 hex aren't cheap. Mac OS via the online installer, but you will most likely get an error. This is a known issue with Apple, not the SSD. I had a Mac OS Mountain Lion disc and an external CD, so I…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Bothers me

Six screws to open the bottom (P5) and one (5 hex) to protect the SSD. After installation, power on with Command-R to boot online. Format the drive. You can try to boot Mac OS using the online installer, but most likely you will get an error message. This is a known issue with Apple, not with SSDs. I had a Mac OS Mountain Lion…
