I was very happy to get this slicer at a good price. When I opened the box and pulled out my new toy, I immediately noticed how thin the metal blades are, they didn't feel sharp at all. I cut a small onion in half and put it in the machine (with a chopping blade). Nothing happened.nada. No way would I cut it. I just turned around. Adjusting the speed, I squeezed the filler neck, fished out the onion, and cut it in half again. Still not to cut! I took out the lightbulb and stood there confused for a few minutes reading the instructions again. Not sure if what I have is a dummy? I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to sharpen part of the blade or bend it a bit. Really disappointed with this item.
