These coffee filters do a great job of filtering coffee. I use them in my funnel for my daily tea making and they really are the best filters for the job. I like bleached paper, not that unbleached has any aroma that I can detect, it's just my preference. They've embraced micro-tasting pores that supposedly help make a better cup of coffee, but I think that's marketing nonsense. What makes these filters better than the regular versions is that they fit perfectly on the funnels and the way the seam is crimped makes them stronger. I like to use a filter a few times before throwing it away and these filters hold up better over time. The reason I reuse them is not just because it's less wasteful, but because the water flow rate is too high for the best cup of coffee the first time you use the filter. When the filter is used the flow rate slows down and I get a better cup. Proprietary filtered Melittas hold up better for picking up used soil for disposal and the stitching doesn't come undone like regular versions typically do. I can brew about 10 cups of coffee with one of these filters.
