I have a 2000 Class A motorhome with a Ford F53 chassis and a Triton V10 engine. The tool arrived today and I have used it with success. But also with some difficulties. The problem was only in my lower side valve. It took 3 attempts before it worked. Reading the reviews beforehand helped a lot. First, make sure what type of valve you have. As far as I know there are 3 options. Schrader, JRA or what I call a high flow valve that looks very different. I went to auto parts and looked at all 3. If you can access the valve port after removing the cap, I can easily tell which one. I was told that most of them are Schröder. I had a regular Schrader. I have read reviews of the valve falling off the shank end of the tool before retracting far enough to close the shut off on the tool. Yes, that happened to me twice. It was easy for me to go back to the Schrader and put it back in place to avoid losing coolant. One review mentioned that if you screw it in too tight, the o-ring in the tool's top plug will compress and catch the shredder. Yes, it was. Not tight at all, almost loose - that's all you need. It still doesn't leak and gives the Schroeder room to pull through. Do a test run before putting it on the machine and you can see if the Schrader will stretch or slide out before it's retracted far enough. Another good point in one of the reviews was to take a regular valve tool and just pop the shredder open before using the special tool. But just relax a little! I haven't done that and haven't had any problems so far. It took more moves to get Schroeder out than I thought. However, if you keep pressing the tool, you can feel the click as it passes the last thread. If you don't unscrew it completely, you'll pull out the tool and have to hold on to it. This didn't seem to be a problem for me either. I'm picky about my 5 star reviews. The only reason I didn't give this tool 5 stars is because it's not bad, but a bit difficult to use. If I hadn't read the reviews I might have had a heck of a time. For what it's designed for, it gets the job done and saves you tons of money without having to evacuate and charge the system. I recommend this tool and would buy it again anytime.
