Timer works almost as expected and as instructed. However, there is one feature (shortcoming) that I don't like. You can still use the remote to turn the device on, but the remote will simply turn off any switch you set. I keep mine in a clear plastic bag as I have seen other reports that it is in fact not waterproof.
