The handle stays in place perfectly and the lid prevents spills and both work way better than I expected. While my Tervis doesn't hold ice all day like some of the new stainless steel glasses, the cost was lower and the fact that it fits in my car's cup holder made a huge difference. The addition of a handle and lid makes it perfect for everyday use at a reasonable price.
