The light was well packed from the start. Wrapped in bubble wrap and then in styrofoam. I ordered some mufflers with light bars and edges because I read a lot of reviews about roof light bars that sound like a plane taking off on a freeway. Well, in this particular case, the fins are on the back or made differently, so only the hem fits. Installation was easy. I drilled a few holes to rivet mine to the roof and used some black RTV silicone under the mounting rubber. On my roof, the light is about 1/8 inch from the center of the roof. So a decent clearance I think. Didn't want a rate too high. After I connected it and tucked the wiring under the driver's side door seal, just wow! It's very bright and better than I thought. Absolutely great price. And best of all, I had no noise from it while driving. Driven onto the highway at 75 and he didn't make a sound. The only reason I'm leaving four stars is that some areas appeared to have been scratched and then touched up. Not a bad thing, but you'd expect something new not to look second-hand.
