What it is for - I thought it was worth the money. It copes well with the role of electronic load. I was able to set up a DC load to test some SLA batteries. The user interface is a bit cumbersome, but usable. You have to scroll through the menu with only 2 buttons. Double-click for one function, triple-click for another, etc. But once you've got it set up, you can do some basic testing. I liked how usage statistics are saved when the device is turned off. The timers and counters were saved when power to the tester was removed. A few wishes: - I would like to have separate lines for measuring the voltage. The DC voltage drop is significant even at #10 AWG while drawing 10 amps. Because of this, the voltage readings at the load did not match the voltage at the battery terminals. With a little tweaking, additional wires could be used to measure the voltage. Add a few more buttons to make UI easier to navigate. Eliminate double-click and triple-click to perform a function or setting. Add data logging capabilities via USB. Add some hysteresis to the voltage cutoff setting. I found that when testing the battery I would hit the cut off voltage, then start charging again, then hit the voltage limit, then start charging again. Or consider that once you reach the low voltage point, the load will be permanently disconnected. There is room for improvement but they are excellent for what they are. I'm happy!
