Review on 🌟 Shining Performance with SilverStone TJ10 SW Version Aluminum Computer by Kevin Ilango

Quality case with a large 180mm positive pressure fan in the front

I just finished building my first desktop computer after building an early generation 386 a few years ago (yes I am so old). Choosing a processor and motherboard for a new desktop computer took less time than choosing a case. I wanted a compact size but was put off by smaller cases due to overheating and lack of flexibility and/or the requirement to use a compact CD reader and dedicated power supplies. So I chose the TJ08B-E case from Silverstone's Temjin series. Robust construction, high-quality fit and finish, good paint finish inside and out. I like the retractable, cleanable fan filters for the main case fan and PSU area. There are a few well-sized thumbscrews for accessing the interior, but there are still screws that require a screwdriver. You are more than enough. room inside for my Mini-ATX motherboard. You don't have a graphics card yet, but it fits easily. The only bottleneck is between the power supply and the CD drive, but the cables have been managed with some care and effort. There is a handy side pocket for cable management. A large 180mm front fan was an advantage for me, not cases that use 2 or more smaller fans. It creates positive pressure inside the case instead of a vacuum. The caveat is that it's only manually adjustable to two speeds (low and high) with an external switch. I find the low 800rpm setting more than enough to keep my system cool and noise to a minimum. I prefer the sound of a slow, large fan to the squeaking of multiple small, high-speed fans. Set to high it sounds like a large fan and the noise becomes annoying. My Corsair RM650 fan should never be running as it is less than 40% utilized. The only other fan in the system is the stock Intel CPU fan, so I like the relatively quiet operation. You have the option of mounting an ATX power supply with the fan facing up, so it draws air through a special filter hole on the top. . Alternatively, like me, you can install the power supply upside down so that its fan sucks air from inside the case when it is running. In any case, the air comes out at the back. Note. There are 3 holes for mounting the PSU and 1 half hole (probably to accommodate tolerance differences). The head of the 4th screw fits snugly into the case and the PSU is held securely. (See my photos in the customer images section) Plenty of room for internal hard drive installation in the front bays. I only use one bay for a pair of SSDs and a second bay for a legacy 1TB drive (for quick backups). The front panel has two externally accessible 5 1/2" bays at the top and a 3 1/2" bay at the bottom. I was considering using a smaller bay for removable SSDs (external backups). Nice to be able to expand in the future. Two USB 3.0 ports come with a cable to connect to the motherboard and work fine. The power and rest buttons on the front have a nice feel when pressed. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it. For my needs, the suitcase is still a bit larger than it could be, but I understand that it needs to accommodate others who need to pack more in. I give a thumbs up.
