Used a 5/16" nut to replace the dumb plastic thread for the license plate bracket. I'm sure you've seen videos of commercial tools and homemade tools installing them I used a bolt with the correct thread and length, two regular flat washers, and A 9/16 "nut" as a holding tool when threading a half head bolt in. Simple is always better.
