Overall I am happy with this duvet cover. It's absolutely gorgeous - love the pattern and the fact that it's reversible. The pillowcases that come with the cover are perfectly matched and all products are very soft. It made my room so much more elegant. However, after a few months of use, I have to say that it's quite a thick coating and overall not overly breathable. If I sleep alone and the room is a bit chilly, it's ok if it's a bit stuffy. However, when my friend stays overnight, the duvet cover gets too hot for both of us to sleep comfortably. This can be caused by the insertion of the duvet cover (rather than the bedspread), but I definitely think the bedspread is an important factor as it doesn't wrap the insert perfectly (as quilts usually do) so we always have lots of extra stuff. the empty cloth just lay there and choked us. But it will probably be fine in the winter. However, my biggest complaint is that I've only put the lid in the washer/dryer about 3-4 times and it's already damaged. Threads break out and pull through parts of the duvet cover, creating ugly lines and small loops protruding from the duvet cover. I bought this duvet cover which was expensive for my budget hoping it would last but now I'm disappointed that after a second wash it does the same as my cheap Walmart cover. I am not happy with the condition of my duvet cover at the moment because I am sure that unraveling the threads in this one section is just the beginning. Wouldn't have bought it if I knew it would break so quickly.
