The hole is not big enough and not high enough for a bun.
I thought this hat would go with very big bangs or a messy bun, but it doesn't. The hole is a lot lower than I expected, but it's bigger than a regular pony. I have other bun hats and this one doesn't seem to be made properly. The one on the left is a miscropped hat and the one on the right is perfect for the bun. You can see the difference.
