I bought this built in fridge filter to work with my existing fridge filter. I was skeptical at first because of the negative reviews. But since the price is not that expensive, I took the risk and bought it anyway. Several reviewers have mentioned that the connectors don't match their existing connectors. The connection on this item is 1/4" brass; old-style refrigerators use the 5/16" and/or 3/8" sizes. Before purchasing, it is better to determine the connection size of your refrigerator. The installation is very easy, the hardest part was moving my fridge to access the back. I also bought a hose with 1/4" female connectors, I want to buy a longer hose, I bought a 3ft hose.
