PROS: -- The glass shade is attractive. It has beautiful swirls that give it a romantic yet simple and classy look. The glass is heavy and well made. This is clearly high quality. Fulfills my need for a lamp my little one can't knock over. CONS: The chain wrapped around the cord is very thick. Each link in the chain is 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. This gives the classic lamp a very industrial, almost embarrassing dungeon look. If you don't want the cable to sag and hang unsightly from the ceiling, you'll need to provide your own hardware. I wanted the cable to run tautly across the ceiling for a more aesthetic look. Luckily the handyman I hired had the necessary equipment. But the hooks that come with the lamp itself allow the chain to dangle and dangle. The glass lampshade is not long enough to cover the bulb. So when you hang a pendant light, the lightbulb shines straight into your eyes.
