Review on 🐢 Optimized UVB Heat Lighting Kit for Aquatic Turtles by Zoo Med by Mark Green

I bought this for an indoor winter "pond" (bath) for our red-eared slider. This winter has been too cold and cloudy to give it enough sunshine/time to bask on the glass shelf like in the past. I set it up about a foot above his sunning rock in early December and he loved it. Both bulbs, lamp and all instructions were in the box and everything worked perfectly. Its installation is safe and secure, and I take it out of the splash zone when cleaning and filling the tub. A few days ago the UV lamp flashed but didn't come on. I unscrewed the bulb and noticed that the cartridge had moved a bit. I reinstalled it and it worked. The next day it didn't start. He only had a bulb for a few days until today when I've had time to test fixtures, sockets and different bulbs. The socket came off even more when I unscrewed the UV lamp this time. Results: Both the UV lamp and the incandescent lamp work. All outlets I plug in work. The UV socket sometimes doesn't work, but sometimes it works. It's working for now and I'll keep using it until I see what my issue is with Zoo Med or Revain. I am VERY unhappy that I took a chance with this lamp (given some negative reviews on durability) and now there is a lamp that is not reliable. This lamp has been treated with care and has no reason to lose its cartridge.
