🐢 Optimized UVB Heat Lighting Kit for Aquatic Turtles by Zoo Med Review

I've had this flashlight for a few months now and both bulbs run 12 hours a day with a timer. None of them burned out, the sunlight creates a lot of warmth for my northern map turtle. I ordered this product for my Red Ear Slider and was expecting a brand new product. However, I received a used, dusty, slightly rusty lamp. Lightbulbs were also used. Also, I'm not sure if the bulb itself is broken or if it's the bulbs, but I plugged it in to test and none of the bulbs lit. I am absolutely dissatisfied and totally disappointed.

Went to a local Petco and after buying 2 bulbs and 2 lights found these at Revain, MUCH cheaper. This is a good 1 bulb design with two bulbs to connect. Delivery includes a solar and UV globe. Definitely inexpensive. However, the UVB lamp was burnt out/broken (see picture). It did not work. I hooked up a UVB lamp I got from petco and it worked. So I guess I'll have to keep it to myself. If it weren't for the broken bulb I would have given this review 5 stars.

If you need a UV lamp with a heat lamp, this is the product for you. The unit has 2 separate plugs for each heat lamp and UV lamp, making it handy if you only want to turn on one lamp. The downside is that 2 outlets must be available if you want to power both. The lamps are lightweight and durable and come with a handle to hang the lamps on if desired. Lamp stand not included. Any R-type bulb can be used, but learn what your body needs. You can always count on Zoo Med.

Received it quicker than expected which really helps with this home order. Packaging and parts are brand new. Easy to assemble. And because it comes with the right bulbs, I know it's safe for our turtle and the environment. The price is lower than other sites. My last lamp lasted 5 years before I dropped it. Bought this with the Zoo Med reptile lamp stand (full size) and am very happy with it. Our renewable energy turtle likes to bask in a heat lamp and get the UV rays it needs. Great purchase with a dual bulb rather than trying to hang 2 different lights which is not aesthetically pleasing. Each lamp has its own switch and they can be turned on at the same time. I made this product for my own turtle. Heat is decent, durability is decent - I've had to replace a bulb in less than 6 months and bulbs need to be re-tightened about every week.
