I'm a professional driver with over 2.5 million accident-free kilometers. I've tried every brand of windshield wiper blade available in stores and rest stops; Everyone claims to be the best. This is the worst thing I've ever experienced. Yes, they are easy to install. Yes, they run silently on the windshield. Their performance in the wet is terrible. Ignore everything you see on YouTube videos and what Scotty Kilmer recommends about those silicone wiper blades. After following the directions and thoroughly cleaning the windshield with rubbing alcohol and blue rags, let it dry and then apply the magic ingredient to a damp cloth. I installed the wiper blades and (per the instructions) let them dry on the windshield for 3 minutes. The first thing I noticed was the haze on the outside of the windshield, which I thought would dissipate with the first rain I encountered. After 50 miles of driving I got caught in a thunderstorm. The rain I rode in choked the frogs. I turned on the wipers and it was like driving without wipers in the fog with worn wiper blades. The fog on the windshield by the silicone wipe was a poor choice and the silicone wiper blades did not remove water from the windshield. They just smeared it. Like lots of oily road spray hitting the glass. Anyone with driving experience will understand what it is. My eyesight has deteriorated by 50%. I took the first opportunity to get off the road safely. I immediately removed the silicone wiper blades and wiped the windshield thoroughly with alcohol. I then reinstalled the old rubber sheets I had salvaged and headed onto the interstate to continue my journey. After removing the silicone and wiper blades, the haze on the windshield was gone and with the rubber wiper blades working, my vision was clear and I was able to continue working safely. These silicone wiper blades are overrated, overpriced, unsafe and will affect your vision. Please don't waste money on them. It is best to buy proven rubber blades every six months to be on the safe side. Also, I experienced another thing with silicone blades. When I used windshield washer spray (Bug Wash brand) in combination with silicone blades, it left bad streaks on the windshield and side windows from the drain. These streaks wouldn't come off with regular glass cleaner and I had to use rubbing alcohol to remove them from the glass. I've never had this experience with old style rubber sheets. So sometimes newer doesn't mean better. Skip the hassle of dealing with silicone blades and stick with old-school rubber blades. Keep it between the ditch drivers and the truck driver because everything you have got shipped to the stores by truck. The container ship and train do not go to your home or work.
