The mask worked well for someone like me who gets a little bit panicky in open water. It takes the guesswork and timing out of breathing and having the snorkel become submerged. The stopper works so well. When you can't inhale for a second, you'll know that you have gone too far under water but none of that water will get into your mouth. I had a problem getting the suction on my face, so I swam with one hand pressed to my forehead the entire time. My husband didn't have a problem the first day, but the second day, he started to have the same issue. One thing that made me laugh (maybe not the most accurate word) was that I had ordered a sm/med for me and lg/xl for my husband. The mask and flippers are both supposed to be bigger or smaller, but I looked at both from every angle multiple times on multiple occasions, and I swear they are both exactly the same size. Not sure if this contributes to the problem I had or if it was an error (got sent the wrong size for one?), but just letting you know. Overall, it was still worth it for me. I'm not scared to snorkel anymore. One true negative bit is that no one can hear you even from a foot away without taking the mask off.
