Dogs wear collars all the time and can sometimes walk right along the wire without getting a shock. I don't trust the system as much as I should and it's frustrating when we make sure the loop is up and they can still get through. but on the other side the wire runs near our garage and house and that's where the collar receiver will pick up the signal from the wiring in the house or something and bang them for no reason just sitting in the house. So I don't know what to think of this, but will continue to use and test it to get rid of the kinks. Bought December 2017, now April 2018. Let's see. Risking your dog's life if you live next to main roads just sucks and I can't trust the system though. never sure if it works properly
