This is a straight forward and honest review because no one likes to end up disappointed. Take what you want and hopefully make up your mind. I've been a Turtle Beach fan for a few years now, but after my first Steel Series headset I will never go back. This is now my second Steel Series headset. After my two year old was abused he spent my last Arctis and had many late night gaming sessions. I am very satisfied and impressed with the performance and durability of the Steel series. That being said, it's been a few days since I received the Arctis 9X wireless headset and I can already say that it has become my favorite. They've added several improvements over previous models that are small but noticeable. It just makes for a better, hassle-free experience. They've added a red LED on the microphone so you can easily see if the audio is muted or on, no more in-game confusion or during a phone call. They've also moved the chat mixer/volume slider to a less cluttered range so you don't accidentally blow your eardrums. 👍Great fit and comfort thanks to the ear tips and ski strap. I already know that even if my brat throws it across the room, I can easily wear it for years with no problems or parts wearing out. 😱The microphone is crisp and clear when speaking, no crackling or muffled voice. Battery life is too early to tell, but after a few hours of use we haven't had any issues so far. Shipping/packaging was clean and easy to unpack, well protected for shipping. Stars now because I've already tested the limits of the previous model with no problems. At this point I know that Iv's time with the Arctis 9X and its performance/feature is not just premature to give it 5 stars sooner. If I'm wrong for some reason you'll see it updated. If not, don't worry, buy with confidence.
