Best quality generators and portable power supplies

I bought this unit along with my Renogy 100w solar housing. Renogy products appear to be of high quality, although the instructions for their products are a bit stingy with information. I put my controller in a DeWalt case to protect it. See photos. Some things I learned: When installing mc4 connectors with Renogy 10 AWG ribbon cable, strip the end to install the metal connector, but ALSO strip about 3/8" from just the outside of the two-piece insulation This allows you to put the back cover on after crimping the metal connector, and then slide the plastic connector (male or female) down just enough for the two pieces of metal to connect properly, on the bottom of the controller. A previous reviewer noted that that Crimping a spade lug or male butt connector makes for a more secure connection. I've tried this and it works great. I really appreciate the advice. Make sure you move the spatula towards the top or front of the hole and pull then gently tighten the locking screw, when you tighten the screw, it won't hold the wire (loosen the screw and look inside the hole) . I believe those who noticed the wire wouldn't be secured in place had the wire on the wrong side. Don't overtighten. These are not the tabs on your pickup. Today I started my device and it worked perfectly! Thank you Renogy for a really high quality product. and thank you for your technical support! I'll update once I've used this device for a few hours. Update September 16, 2017: Posted at 1:30pm – A clear day started at 5.9 amps but flattened out somewhat to 5.4. -5.6 amps from the panel. On the charging side, the voltage leveled off at 13.4 V. with 17.8V from the 100W Renogy Solar case. We have replaced all light bulbs in the van with LED bulbs. After leaving four or two lights on for about 1.5 hours last night, the solar panel brought my battery back to 100% in about 15 minutes. I have to admit, this solar energy is something of a new experience. I have to say I am impressed with this Renogy solar system.
