I bought this player to digitize some old audio cassettes. It worked great for that purpose and included everything I needed to get the job done. I would suggest downloading the latest open source Audacity software you need to convert tapes to MP3 files rather than using the version on the CD that comes with it. For what it's worth, my computer is Windows 10 and the player is recognized as a USB microphone when the USB cable is connected, not the "USB audio device" mentioned in the instructions. So it works as advertised and was worth the money, at least for me.
