My son is 46" tall and fairly proportionate. He wears size 7 pants. These are soft cotton shorts, a shorter version of their pants. My son is 46" and is quite proportional. His pants are size 7, so I ordered the shorts right away. While the pants were the perfect length for him, the shorts run on the longer side, falling about 1-2 inches below the knee. The legs of the shorts fall straight. These are soft, comfortable and colorful shorts but I only gave them four stars instead of five as I think they are a bit overpriced for basic kids shorts.
