I was in Death Valley before COVID hit and around the same time we were hit by 60 mile winds that seriously threatened our trip. Luckily I bought them before we left and to my surprise our tent was still up with those huge poles stuck in the gravel of the river bed. This thing held our tent and probably kept it from flying out into the desert. Get them if you plan to venture into rough terrain. You will not regret it!
