Overall I am very happy with this toaster. I wanted it to be able to evenly toast large slices of artisan bread and this one does a good job. Advantages: The stainless steel housing is made of real metal. He toasts the slices evenly on both sides; Some toasters of this type do not have heating elements on their insides, or do have them but do not regulate the temperature (as one reviewer noted, they tend to be toasters with a "donut" setting). I thought the pop up heat pad was a gimmick but it actually works well. ideal for toasting a side of sandwiches. The exterior stays cool. The cable is strong and flexible. Cons: Pretty bulky, which is to be expected from a toaster of this type. The controls are on the long horizontal side, but I hold the toaster perpendicular to the counter, so they're hard to see. A better design would be if they placed the controls in a diagonal corner so they can be easily manipulated in any orientation. The temperature controller has little friction and only has a tiny black indentation for a mark, making it difficult to see. The color dot solved it. You really need to add some cushioning for the popup feature. It's less of a pop-up and more of an emergency extraction. As already mentioned, the toast is often thrown out of the toaster. For me it landed on the toaster, on the counter next to it, and once even jumped into the next slot. Raising the heating plates will help reduce the number of shoots a bit. Overall for the price it's well made and works well so I'm happy with the purchase.
