2nd purchase after 3 years, overall decent quality

This is my second purchase of this particular machine after 3 years. Here are the good, the bad, and the ugly: The good: This device performs very well and hardly drains the battery when properly installed and working. The range is long enough to trigger my remote from the store if something goes off. After 3 years of continuous use, the "brain" and the two-way alarm were still working normally, even with some damage to the antennas (one was hit by a rock, but it was still working, just with a slightly reduced range.) When everything works, this system is very noisy and will definitely give someone a minor heart attack if they get on or bump into your bike. The Bad: The siren seems cheap and easy to damage, but it's bulky and difficult to hide, at least on my bike with little hidden space. The remote controls are bulky and easily damaged over time, although the ones I carried with me always did, despite long use and extensive cosmetic damage (cracked screen, battery cover lost because it was loose and easily removed over time). was still functional by I recommend using masking tape to make sure it doesn't come loose unless you're using the cap they've added since I first bought it and the buttons like to fall off and get stuck which causes it they are difficult to get out of, as the button seems to slip under the plastic at the rim and wedges into it, which gets worse over time.) The schematic is quite helpful, although it can be tricky to figure out; I ended up buying an expensive wiring manual for my bike to identify the correct wires to hook up the system and got all the features including engine shutdown but without the remote start feature (might do remote start but I don't want that as I see on one bike it makes no sense, and I tend to leave my bike in gear when parked.) The instruction manuals are complicated and completely wrong about some features, like overriding auto re-engagement when you don't want to insert the key. and have it operational only to cancel the re-triggering of the alarm (after many tests I found that quickly pressing the button 3 times without arming can sometimes cancel the auto-arming, but that's not at all what the instructions say ) and also because turning the microwave sensor on or off with the remote seems to have absolutely no effect on actually turning it on or off. If you want to disable the microwave sensor, the only way I've found is to physically disconnect the microwave module from the alarm. Ugly: The microwave sensor failed completely after about 4 months on my first order and caused a significant drain on my battery (I assume there is a short in the module) so I had to remove it, although the rest of the system worked fine. Other comments have mentioned that the microwave sensor is not waterproof so this time I carefully sealed the module to make it waterproof and we'll see how long it lasts. The siren module is bulky, difficult to hide and easily broken. Overall Rating: Solid quality for a 2 way alarm system at this price point although there is certainly room for improvement and I wouldn't recommend the system for a beginner to install as it can be a little tricky to get fully correct install on your bike and how new it is. My motorcycle: Harley Davidson Street 750, year of construction 2016
