Pretty but noisy

Put them in a white theme, made for a friend/client. We were on a tight budget and saw that 3 white LED fans for 14.99 is a steal. Unfortunately, we were only half right. While these fans are great and seem to have pretty good build quality, they're pretty loud and there's no compromise. As some others have said. there is no "golden meanโ€ for them. It's either A) full power, full speed, bright LEDs, or B) quiet mode, low RPM, and no LEDs at all. Attempting to tune these fans to that happy sweet spot just isn't possible. I do not come to this conclusion lightly. After spending a few days in Gigabyte Bios fan profile configurator to create a curve that works. There are no dice. So then I said okay. Consider a Molex/3-pin manual fan controller. I have 3 different controllers and none of them can do anything with these fans. The manual controls worked much better than the motherboard controller. But when you use the hand control to reduce the noise, the light goes away with it. The moment the fans were a little (and I mean a little) quieter, the LEDs are so dim or off it's not worth it. were so close. Maybe the 4-pin versions, which cost a few bucks more, work better. But in their current form, beautiful as they are, I just can't recommend them. upHere really had something in mind. Let's hope the next version is much better.
