I am a trained car mechanic. I am an ASE Master Tech with advanced certification. I always buy tools and where I can I try not to buy Snap-on or other big brands just to save some money. When I bought this set it was basically just for me to use a long T-40 bit to remove the Volvo thermostat housing. With this long piece it would save me a lot of work. To be honest, I didn't want to pay $25 for a set when all I wanted was a beat. But I also know that as a mechanic, other bits will come in handy. Well I put on the bits, threw the real test of hard work and they passed. The first thing that struck me when I got the Beats was the weight. They really weigh a lot. But I know from experience that just because a metal weighs a lot doesn't necessarily make it strong. This is where tensile strength comes into play. If the metal is made with minimal elongation, the metal will twist and eventually break. If the tensile strength is too high, the metal will fatigue and break. I am very pleased to report that these bits did not twist or even break when tightened to the correct foot-pounds. I was so happy and, to be honest, a little surprised. I wrongly assumed that the weight would break them. I am so happy I purchased this bit set that I proudly display it on my snap on tool chest and want every mechanic to know what a great purchase this is. This is one of those cases where I find a tool that is cheaper than Snap-on or any other professional brand, but is still highly designed for professionals. Whether you are a pro or a hobby mechanic, I would recommend this bit set. The quality far exceeds the price.
