Exactly what I wanted. There is 1 socket in the bathroom of my apartment and it is used for hair dryer and hair straightener. The constant removal of the plug-in night light was annoying. This little lamp is great! Motion activation works great. When the bathroom light turns on, the lamp turns off (saves batteries), and when the light goes out, motion activation resumes automatically. I rotated the lamp slightly so the sensor wasn't pointing all the way toward the door, which turned the lamp on when someone walked down the hallway. Now it only happens when the person actually goes to the bathroom. I bought 2 because I wasn't sure if 1 would be enough, but 1 is perfect! Not too bright, but bright enough on its own. A simple wave of the hand turns it back on when it turns off (it doesn't bother me at all). Looks good right above a water bottle. You can set it to keep the light on, but I prefer to save the batteries so I set it to automatic. It's important to note that after you put the batteries in, flip the switch to auto mode and wait about 10 minutes. Let the lamp "adjust" and then motion activation will work. At first I thought it was broken but eventually I decided to read/follow the instructions and it worked. Love love love this little lamp.
