Exactly what I wanted. There is 1 socket in the bathroom of my apartment and it is used for hair dryer and hair straightener. The constant removal of the plug-in night light was annoying. This little lamp is great! Motion activation works great. When the bathroom light turns on, the lamp turns off (saves batteries), and when the light goes out, motion activation resumes automatically.
