I've ordered this and a few others and you really can't even compare them. So, yes, it's more expensive, but the metal plate is a lot thicker, it's just a very strong piece. Sometimes I'll stuff a kid's scooter in there along with five beach towels and ride off into the sunset, the scooter dangling dangerously from behind, knowing the basket will hold up no matter what. Or something like that. My husband follows me and cries because he spends so much money on a bike basket but you just can't win everything
