Gardening with childlike joy!

I bought one of these seed squares a few years ago when I was first trying to do SFG (Square Foot Garden). As a native of Minnesota I wanted to try this method as we have such a short growing season and there seemed to be a lot for the initial minimal effort - oh and I hate weeding. OK. So I got Mel Bartholomew's book ["All New SFG"] and read it, and at first I was quite confused. Looking at all the SFG options, I just wanted a reliable distribution and placement method - as a man, I hate feeling like an idiot; (especially next to my wife!) and while searching the internet I found this! I will admit that opening it, using it and putting it back into the plastic zipped lid with the included guides was like being a kid again for the first time. I think the primaries and spacing are decent and it takes away my fear of 'failing' - I have an opportunity to 'try' - that's NOT my ability. So when we moved in last year I was desperate for something - especially this growing area with all our hundreds of moving boxes. Well last week as I was contemplating planting a new garden in a new house in new condition lo and behold I found this (on the cover and a book by Mel Bartholomew alongside!) I was like a kid on Christmas morning . Hardcore gardeners might think that's reckless, but I don't care. I want to have that childlike joy of planting and watering and watching everything grow, and Seeding Square is doing that for me. Couple this with the Garden in Minutes Garden Grid irrigation system (also available from Revain) and all I need is a garden hose and my SFG "system" is complete. I feel like Mister Green Jeans! (Captain Kangaroo fans will know what I'm talking about). And your kids love it too.
